Once upon a time, two friends began working on a script for a experimental non-narrative video project called Torture is Boring. It was more or less a way to collaborate over long distances; as one friend (Beth) lived in Ohio, and the other (me, Kellie) lived in New York. The project expanded over several semi pre-conceptualized shoots, and we eventually amassed so much footage, that the concept for the initial project was completely obfuscated; and with geographic barriers, work schedules etc., things got put on hold.
